Founder and Independent Marine Engineering Consultant
I am an experienced marine engineering consultant with more than 15 years in the field and over 90 completed projects. My background includes a Master’s degree in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University and professional registration as a Chartered Engineer through the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
Throughout my career, I have supported a wide range of organizations within the professional, commercial, and defence marine sectors. I have delivered projects for respected names such as Birdon, Alamarin-Jet, and Candela. My work has helped shipyards and system OEMs streamline operations, improve documentation, and strengthen their product support strategies.
Areas of Expertise
My consulting services focus on supporting the full lifecycle of marine products. I provide expertise in the development of instruction manuals, document management, training, aftersales systems, and maintenance strategy.
My most in-demand services include the creation of clear, regulatory-compliant instruction manuals, as well as consulting on aftersales support structures for advanced marine systems. I have worked on technical documentation for commercial passenger hydrofoils, military boats, and propulsion systems. Additionally, I assist clients in developing effective maintenance planning and long-term support strategies.
Approach and Mindset
I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and independent thinking to every engagement. My ability to visualize complex systems and organize information helps clients make sense of technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
As someone who values clarity, I aim to uncover the core of every issue and communicate it in a way that aligns with operational needs. I work independently, which allows me to avoid the distractions of corporate politics and provide clients with an honest and strategic perspective.
I am guided by a strong sense of integrity and a desire to always pursue the most accurate and effective solution. I believe in continuous learning and improvement, and I treat every project as an opportunity to grow and deliver greater value.
A Flexible, Professional Network
Although I operate as an independent consultant, I collaborate with a trusted network of skilled professionals when a project requires broader expertise. This flexible approach ensures that clients get the right support without unnecessary overhead.
Why I Do This
My goal is to help marine businesses create reliable, well-supported products and services that stand the test of time. I started this consultancy to offer focused, expert support that cuts through complexity and delivers results that matter. Whether it’s helping a boatbuilder define a maintenance plan or guiding an OEM through documentation strategy, I approach every project with purpose and precision.
